The rift est un roman incroyable : il utilise un thème usé (l'enlèvement par les ETs d'un personne et sa réapparation quelques années plus tard) et ne tient que par ses personnages et son ambiance. Personnellement je le trouve magnifique, mais je suis étonné que ca plaise à suffisamment de monde pour avoir le prix (les électeurs sont les membres de la british science fiction association et les participants à la eastercon).

Paul Kincaid - Iain M. Banks(University of Illinois Press)

L'essai est paru dans la collection Modern Masters of Science Fiction : dans le lot, je n'ai lu que Greg Egan de Karen Burnham (dont provient l'interview de l'auteur au sommaire du Bifrost 88), qui m'avait paru de très haute tenue. Curieux de lire les autres, donc (en dépit de leur prix un peu élevé).
